Rural Noise

The Rural Noise Ensemble is a Vermont-based collective of musicians, artists, and makers that use noise aesthetics as a critical framework for interrogating rurality. Rooted in the conviction that the rural landscape is not defined by its relationship to “nature” or “history” but exists as a dynamic contemporary periphery, this group uses scrap wood and rusty nails, interactive electronics, and participant performers to decode and disrupt the rural.
